So Many Choices, So Little Effort, Solar Lighting

When was the last time you looked at solar outdoor lights? If you think posts, stakes and hanging lights along a walkway  are your only possibilities, you’re in for quite a shock.  From gardens to pools to decks to walls, the original and captivating alternatives in outside solar lighting will make you want to run to the store and purchase some for your garden before you’re done with this story.

Let’s begin with solar tiki lights. These lights mimic the original without the worry of open flame and the hassle of refilling the oil or liquid fuel. And when you turn in for the night, no need to blow them out either! Then there are color-changing solar globes that are made to sit on a post or pedestal or float in a pond or pool. The rotating hues create a mood-enhancing effect whether in or out of the water. Solar powered flood lights are perfect for highlighting a garden statue, throwing a shadow or lighting a back corner of the garden. How about that umbrella above your patio table? Yes, there are solar lights for that too. Have problems reading your street address in the dark? Solar address lights make it easy and you can relocate the solar power panel as far as eight feet away (somewhere brighter in case your address stake is located under a shade tree or doesn’t get much sun on the wall where it’s installed). You can improve your deck or fencing by installing solar post caps and never be concerned about dealing with electricity.

When it comes to walkway lighting, you have many creative and surprising choices. Dangling solar lights from traditional shepherd’s hooks is always charming, but what about lighting the bricks themselves in a path?  Solar brick edging is available in an easy-to-install kit and is ideal for landscape edging or path edging. Or you can add stepping stones with solar lights in the center that are made to be walked on. With outdoor rooms growing in popularity, you can even buy solar lights created to be mounted horizontally making them perfect for lighting walls, fences, columns, and more.

Got a gazebo way out in the center of the garden and don’t want to take electric to it? Solar string lights are the perfect answer. From whimsical decorative lights to shed lighting kits, the opportunities for outdoor solar lighting are countless. And you don’t even have to call an electrician to install them! So if you’re wanting to add some ambiance to your outdoors, there is essentially nothing you can’t enhance with solar lighting. Keep an eye out at your local home improvement stores and check online for all the newest solar lighting products. And take pleasure in it all without raising your energy bill!
